MLKJ Day @ the Zoo. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!!

How are you this fine day?? Just thought I would share a few photos of our fabulous, sunshiny day at the zoo yesterday... Isn't my husband a nut!!?! Too funny! Please join with me today in praying for our new president and for our country. May God be glorified!!!

For Today...

Dear Lord,

I bring you my shortcomings... late nights lead to sleepy mornings!! I wanted to have 2009 be the year of 10:30pm bedtime be a constant as it makes the mornings so smooth and unhurried. It lasted a whole week...:( So, I am pressing re-start...

I bring you my worship and praise... Lord, for sunshine! How perfectly you made it!!

I bring you my prayer...for Auntie Ellen & her family with the loss of Dougie and for Kevin, Lord...help him come home to You...

You spoke to me...in the kindness and caring words and actions of mentors this week. Lord, You see me and I matter to you!! The troubled and heavy heart I had was ministered to so beautifully be your servants and I thank you!! xo

Hiking with Kymmer at Ute Valley Park...

With the guys off SNOWBOARDING today Kymmer, Lexi and I decided we needed a fun in the sun outing too... It is so nice to have such a gorgeous hiking trail right down the street!! We armed ourselves with water and Lex kept us safe from rattlesnakes as we climbed up "the snowy mountain". Kymmer has become quite the little hiker and she did not want to come down!! I insisted as the hike down was pretty far still and the sun was fading...good thing as we were all ready to be done by the end...well, not Lexi, she could go forever. AND Kymi RAN all the way down...I guess it was me that was ready to be done! :D I have to admit that it is nice to be outside in January!! SHHHHHHH! Don't tell my husband!! I am trying to get an Alaska trip this summer!! :D Blessings to you all!! And a shout out to my Alaska friends..."stay WARM!!!"

As Kymi and I were driving up our street today after our Costco run we wondered if we would spy any deer...What do you know?? We had two visitors right in our own front yard!!! What a fun surprise!!

Lazy Sunday Afternoon...

We woke up to piles of fresh, beautiful snow!! Yea!! Church was great!! It was all about God's will for us and how we can feel safe because of Him this year and always.
After getting gas (check out that low cost...another yea!!) we came home and fixed brunch with yummy warm rolls. The fireplace is blazing because the heater is a bit "on the bump"...good thing my sweetie is a HVAC man AND good thing we didn't have this crappy old heater in AK...THAT thing cranked!!! (I am praying that all our loved ones in AK have cranking heaters during the frigid weather they are shivering thru!!!) The kids are huddled together playing Mario, our tummy's are full, we are semi-warm in our cozy home about to watch Facing the Giants, looking out at the sparkly snow...life is good and God is on the throne!!

Hi Friends & Fam!

Just a quick post to ask you to pray for my extended family during this grieving time for them... My 46 year old cousin died very unexpectedly day before yesterday. He left 2 teenage girls who witnessed his death. I am not sure of all the details yet, but, just wanted to get the word out so you could pray. My Auntie's youngest son was killed in a motorcycle accident about 8 years ago and now this son is gone too... She loves Jesus and your prayers would be felt and be such an encouragement to her!! Thank you, dear ones!!

HAPPY 2009!!!! :D

One of my goals for 2009 is to become a bread maker...grind my own grain even...here you see my first attempt. Greg has another marathon in his sights. David just wants to play as much wii as possible (which isn't as much as he would like with this mama!!)...as you can see, he has sucked Grammy right in...look at those "game faces"!! Kymi would like to drink soda every chance she gets!! :D Ringing in 2009 was fun for Greg and I at the Grafton's party and for the kids with Grammy at home...Kymi did not make it (I think she had too much to drink!!) Happy New Year Everyone!!! xoxoox
