Trailblazer David

David had a fabulous first day as a Timberwolf!! (Yea God!!!) He made 2 great friends (Andrew & Sam) and his teacher "is the nicest one he has ever had!!". He LOVES his new school!! (And, Kudos 2 AK...he is in the highest math and reading group!!) We are all thrilled with Trailblazer!! (The first school I cheaked out was like NLABC on steroids!!!!) Everyone is so helpful, encouraging and nice. This morning David and I rode our bikes! (Still getting used to the altitude, but, it will get easier, right?!) The way home is a breeze...mostly downhill. It's just over a mile so that will be about 4 miles each day for Kimmer and I!! I do not even need Wii Fit!! Oh, have we ENJOYED the Wii!! Today David will make a Grammy & Grampa so they can play too. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. We are settling in a little more each day here. XOXOXOX, Tam & Fam

OUCH!!!

Well, all of us have been a wee bit funky feeling...adjusting to altitude...but, I had the first big injury! It was the middle of the night and I guess I am not quite used to stairs...down them I fell!! Thankfully, all I did was brake a toe and get 2 awfully skinned knees...OUCH!! On a positive note though...we LOVED the church we tried this morning...all of us!! Yea!!! They use 252 as well so David felt right at home. Kymi was NOT ready for me to pick her up. We met one great couple who gave me lots of info on pre-schools, Drs, etc. AND, we looked at cars while Grammy watched the kids (LOVE having that option!!!) I really like this Honda Pilot!! We'll see... Tomorrow David starts school. More to come... Love, The Z's

Interview...

Greg says his interview went wonderfully today!! (Of course as he is perfect for the job!!) He said they had 100 qualified applicants to sift through, but, will get back to him either way. Until then he has a few other leads to follow up on. We KNOW God will provide the perfect job for our family and Greg's dreams. Until then we will work on fixing up our house and unpacking. Anyway...thanks for the prayers!! Soon I hope to have the high-speed hooked up and will send pictures... Love, The Vita-D soaked Z's

We made it to our new home!!!

Yea!! We are here at last. We arrived last night about 9pm. Grammy and Grampa were very excited to see us, though we woke them up!! (Early 2 bed & early 2 rise guys...) They got our new keys and let us into our new pad. Grammy was very sweet to stock us up with basics and Grampa has been working on the lawn. I have to say, we had the best night sleep we have had in weeks...probaby months. Greg and I are making a punch list of things to do and is excited 2 start even though he just worked so hard on the last house. Oh, he is feeling MUCH better! So, thanks for your thoughts and prayers. The weather here? A sunny 80 deg. and holding!! WOW!!! I think we might experience a summer season this year after all!!!! Today we will get phones, school sign-ups, milk, etc. More later....

We sould be in our new home tonight...

We are only 7 hours from Colorado Springs... our final detination is upon us... we will keep you posted and hopefully add some trip pictures as soon as we get booted up there. Thanks for all your posts along the way!!! You're the BEST!!!!!

Lawrence Visit = MUCH FUN!!!!

We had SO much fun visiting our longtime AK friends at their new Boise home!!!! David was in HEAVEN and never stopped beaming!! Later he said he was so surprised at how different thay all we! He said," Maurissa is so tall and not a kid anymore, Kyle has different actions, Bill is not such a bowl full of spit and vinegar, and Curtis was pretty much the same" (although I think Curtis is the most changed...so tall and confident...big boy!). I asked if Sandy was different and he said, "Yea, she must be taller too...there was definately different!" (She is tiny now with all her weight loss!) Kids are so funny!! All we did was visit, play and eat (Sandy made all kids of Double Musky desserts!!) It was a WONDERFUL time and they all seem to be doing so ery well there in Boise!

Side Trip to the DR...

Well, I guess we needed one mishap on this otherwise perfect trip... Hours after I posted my last blog Greg's stomach started to be "on the bump". He was down for the count and pretty much slept the day away... When he "wasn't any better" the next morning we took him in. His mind thinking up all the things that could be wrong is more threatening to him than the actual ailment. ANyway, it's a good thing I went in with him because even as I sat there he had this NP convinced she needed to send him into the hospital for je-ardia(SP) tests!! I finally stepped in and said it could not be that as we have not been remote camping for three weeks, AND David and I are not sick (we are the only real water drinkers in the fam...Greg drinks flavored, bottled water!) He's good!! All he needs in life is a skittish DR and he could get and med or operation he so desired!! The diagnosis... a slight case of food poisoning (he didn't even barf!)...which we had already determined at home. Remember the fish dinner he made the other night? Well, he only washed his hands with baby wipes so there must have been some cross-contamination. He is on the mend (reluctant tho he is to admit it...) and we are thankful.

We are almost 2 the Lawrences!!!

Hey Gang!! After an extra long day of driving (and no internet acsess yesterday) Greg and I were excited to read your comments...TOO funny!!! Thanks for keeping us entertained along our journey!!! We have decided to bypass Yellowstone at this time and go straight to the Lawrences. We will do Yellowstone next summer for a longer time...hopefully round up some of the old AK gang (Lawrences and Lakes) 2 join us...more fun that way. Greg wants to get into CS at least a day or 2 b4 his interview... Well, being it's after midnight I better sign off for now. OH, I have to say tho, kuddos to my resourceful husband...in an effort to "motor thru" tonight he made dinner in the camper WHILE I was driving...baked salmon, rice and green beans no less!! What a man!!! In the am we will beat feet to Boise in 2 hours. YEA!!!!!! David can hardly stand the wait!!! He gets to play with Kyle and Curtis again at long last. TaTa4Now, TZ

Are my eyes still open? YAWN!!!

What a day!! Specacular sliding, huge waves, much bravery, smiles and laughter a-plenty!! We all enjoyed our day off from driving incredibly!! You should see this place...WOW!!! And, it's their off season...it was cheap and hardly any people. We dried off midway through our time as Lexi needed some hugs and a walk and we needed linner. We feasted in Chinatown...an authentic re-created Chinese marketplace. Everything tasted amazing. There was a children's boutique there in which I got the most 2-di-4 outfit for Kymi AND a handmade hair bob. The whole experience brought me back to Taiwan...I was bubbling with excitement. I pray your day was wonderful as well. Sweet dreams!

10% Discount...

When I was off doing laundry last night Greg had quite the encounter...The kids were finally asleep and he was reading in bed when he felt the entire truck shaking and shouts of, "Kevin, Kevin, are you in there?". Soon there was banging on the door and someone coming on into the camper... Well Greg flew out of the loft (probably bumping his head on the way down) and confronted the VERY drunk guy with, "HEY!! GET OUT OF HERE!! THERE IS NO KEVIN HERE!!!" But, the friend of Kevin was relentless and quite insistant says Greg. "He almost had Pampered Chef branded to the side of his head!" Of course Greg has had to relay this story to anyone who would lend him an ear ( I wish he would just write the blog...he is hysterical...David does the impression well too!) ANyway, the office gal took pity and gave him a discount for the trouble. I miss all the fun!! The whole event was over in the 1/2 hour I was folding. So, now you are "up 2 the minute".

It's Kymi...

I miss Lindsay! Yesterday I told Mama, "I want to call Carlee & Maggie, right now, not later, right NOW!!!" "I miss them and they miss me!!!" You want to go swimming with us at the pool today? I love you. I'm gonna miss you. Love, Kymi

Hi, this is David

I miss everyone! We are having so much fun (except for the homework!) I have some new toys... GumB 3 O and Pokey D 2... Kymi and I are having so much fun with them. (Gumby broke his arm and I had to operate...that's when he became Gum B 3 O.) P.S. Do you miss me? How come u haven't written yet, Jared? Love, David

We're back in comunicado...

Oh, I had the longest and best update yesterday and alas, it was sucked up in the abyss...such a bummer. I will try and catch you up quickly before this crashes. We made it to Edmonton last night (last niht was Dawson Creek...no sightings of Katie Holmes though...) We will go to the waterpark today....YEA!!! We are all ready to give our biscuts a break and give the seats a chanse to re-fluff. We are no closer to CO than AK... WOW!

Wild life we have seen so far...

Buffalo galore, moose, reindeer (at Santa's house), elk, geese, carabou, and stone sheep...so cool!! We also saw THE COOLEST "Sign Post Forrest" at Watson lake. We played there about an hour looking at all the signs and climbing on old tractors. There was a stage in the center where David asked Kymi to dance...there was twirling, dipping, check kisses...DARLING!!! I'm sure Greg & I were not nearly as cute, but, the kids LOVED watching us...they laughed and beamed...it will be a memory I carry all my life.
I think we have traveled 1600 miles so far? We are at Port Nelson tonight. Sweet Dreams 2 all, Tam

OOOOPS! Must See #2

Thanks to Keaton, David has found "Grocery Store Wars"....so cute! A must see! ALSO...look for the SNL spoof on Sarah & Hilary. I found it highlighted on the Yahoo news page. You won't believe how dead on it is!! Talk again soon...

Must See...

We are @ Watson Lake BC

Another gloreous drive AND I got caught up on my Thank You's... We saw the coolest solar car today! It looked like a spaceship. David has decided that instead of an old fixed up Chevy he wants that car when he turns 16. Fine with me as it was so small it had no room for dates!! We missed being at church today and thought and prayed for all of you. The people here in Canada are SO nice!! Everyone is so helpful and friendly...always anxious to visit. The kids are doing very well. (Thank you, Jesus!!) I still can't get a picture to upload...HELP! More soon. Love, The Z's

Back again...

Sorry, Friends!! We have not had internet access in awhile. It feels as though I have been cut off. But, as the man who just passed me said, "You know, you don't get much rest and peace when you bring those things along on your trips." He just doesn't understand, cute as he is. ANYWAY, we are doing well! We are enjoying God's beautiful creation!! Boy, non-believers just need to take a trip down the Alcan in the fall and they will be absolutely convinced there is a God! I cried when we got to the borader of Canada! We all had fun though being in 2 different countries at the same time...took lots of pictures. We are in Whitehorse right now and are soon on our way to Watson Lake. Thanks for all your prayers for our safe journey. Love 2 all, Tam & fam

Santa's on vacation...

We just visited Santa's house, but, he and the elves are on vacation. BooHoo...I wanted to put in my request for an I Phone! heehee We said hi to JoAn, Liz's friend. It is a charming little place. Well, we are on the road again. More soon... Hugs!!! TZ

It's pouring rain at Santa's house!!

We are enjoying the pampering of being hooked up for the night @ Santaland RV Park, North Pole, Alaska. Kymi is enjoying her Chinese lights (thanks Auntie Kimmy!!) Up to 4 people get to take all the showers we want...good thing Lexi just had her trip to the poodle palace! The majesty of God in the utter beauty of His fall creation displayed on the drive today I will never forget...the colors were breathtaking at every turn. The only thing bumming me out right now is that the bathrooms are a bit of a hike and the pouring rain is really making me need to pee.. Blessings for a great night to all!
