Highlighter

Hi Friends!
Kymi and I just came back from Mom's and Beyond and I am compeled to share a simple yet profound tidbit I learned today. The speakers topic was Jesus as our Shepherd and the challenge was to shepherd our own kids as The Shepherd shepherds us with provision, protection, and guildence. Great message, but, this is what struck me... We as mom's have the God-given ability to light the way for our kids and to shed light on things...the speaker challenged us to be a highlighter in their lives rather than a sharpie (to me, the difference between gentleness and harshness...) WOW! With all the change and emotions at an all time high for all of us, this was a great word picture for me! Not so much in regards to my kids, but, for my sweet husband. He is the one I can tend to be hard on. So here is my commitment for this time when we are together 24/7...I am going out and get me a cute little highlighter that has a string...I will wear it around my neck to remind me to use gentle words, to be quick to "highlight" the wonderful things he does and the amazing man that he is. Thanks for listening and have a day filled with highlights! Love, Tam

Wow, what amazing insight you always have. I know I can always count on you for such a great message. I will try to do the same with my entire family. I'm not sure I will tie a highlighter around my neck, but that would be an awesome reminder. I am so happy that the church you are attending is wonderful and you love it.

You got to go to Mom's this morning. I on the other hand attempted, but it took me over 1/2 an hour to get from my house to the highway. In fact at one point I drove a whole mile in 14 minutes, I just might be able to walk faster than that:o) The roads in Anc were a mess also, so I turned around and went home. I will try to get to the church again tomorrow.

Guess what? We made it to the post office, to mail your box, but the line was huge, too long for the amount of time we had, so Carlee and I will mail it this afternoon, no matter how long the line is, it WILL be in the mail today.

Has Greg heard anything yet? I keep praying for the right position for him.

Love ya friend,

Barb

Hi Tam, That is a wonderful word picture and thought. Highlights... I love it. I'm gonna join you. I'll put a small highlighter mark on my hand to remind me to accent the positive and not be a sharpie. Thanks for sharing that. Love U, Jax

P.S. I can't remember if I wrote you back so if not, thanks for the email with your number. :O)
